Before First Use: Rinse both mortar and pestle with warm water (no soap). Let them air dry completely.

For Regular Cleaning: Always wash by hand - never put in the dishwasher, as heat and detergent may damage marble. Rinse with warm water immediately after use. Use a soft brush or non-abrasive sponge if needed. If frequently working with wet or oily ingredients, clean promptly to prevent stains. Allow to air dry fully before storing.
